Authentic Omega Pocket Watch Conversion / Grand Prix Paris 1900

Original Porcelain Enamel Dial & Gold Medals Dust Cover

High-Quality Romiks Leather Strap / Fully Serviced & Ready to Wear

It would be a great find for any high-end collector or vintage horology enthusiast

Up for sale is a breathtaking, truly unique luxury timepiece – an authentic Antique OMEGA Marriage / Trench Wristwatch converted from a genuine 1900s Omega pocket watch. This piece perfectly merges Swiss watchmaking heritage with modern wrist-wear style.

The watch features a solid 0.800 Silver Case with an exquisitely engraved guilloché back cover and custom-welded articulated lugs. The cuvette (inner dust cover) proudly displays the iconic gold inlay "OMEGA Grand Prix Paris 1900" medals. It boasts a beautiful original white porcelain enamel dial with double 12/24-hour red markings, elegant hands, and a sunken sub-seconds dial. Powered by a high-grade 100% original antique Omega mechanical movement dating back to circa 1898–1900. Fully overhauled, cleaned, oiled, and keeping accurate time!

DEFECTS: Excellent overall vintage condition! There is a minor, faint trace of wear on the enamel dial near the 10 o'clock marker, which is so microscopic that it barely shows up under macro photography. Glass is brand-new mineral crystal.

HISTORY & LORE

Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, OMEGA grew to become one of the most prestigious Swiss watchmakers in history. In 1894, the company developed the revolutionary 19-line caliber, named "Omega" after the last letter of the Greek alphabet to symbolize ultimate perfection. The caliber's overwhelming success led the firm to rename itself Omega Watch Co.

At the 1900 Paris World Fair (Exposition Universelle), Omega achieved the highest award — the "Grand Prix" — for its remarkable achievements in precision watchmaking and aesthetic innovation. The iconic medal relief engraving inside the silver dust cover commemorates this legendary milestone in horological history.

RECOMMENDATIONS

All Antique and vintage watches are mechanical. Repairs require precision, so please handle this historical masterpiece with care.

  • Vintage mechanical watches should not be beaten or dropped - shocks can damage the balance staff.
  • Vintage watches are NOT waterproof. Protect your timekeeper from direct contact with water, heavy rain, or high humidity.
  • If your watch becomes wet it should be dried off quickly using a soft cloth or blow-drier on cool setting.
  • Winding any mechanical watch tight may break the mainspring. Stop winding as soon as you feel natural resistance tightening up.
  • When adjusting the hands of your watch, move them in a clockwise direction only to prevent stress on the gear train.
  • Every 2-3 years it is recommended to service, clean, and oil vintage watches to keep them running accurately for decades to come.
  • To clean the silver case and crystal, use a microfiber polishing cloth.
  • Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields (large speakers, modern smartphones, magnetic clasps).
  • Vintage mechanical watches naturally experience a daily deviation error. An accuracy of +/- 2 to 4 minutes a day is considered excellent for a timepiece over 120 years old!
