Stunning Blue & Red Dial / Soviet Signal Edition

Caliber Poljot 2612.1 (18 Jewels SU) / Mechanical Alarm Complication

New Acrylic Crystal / Fitted with New Black PU Leather Strap

It would be great find for any collector

Up for sale is an iconic Soviet mechanical wristwatch – the legendary Poljot Signal / Alarm (Полет Сигнал) from the 1980s. This model features a very distinctive, eye-catching deep blue dial with a central red alarm scale and contrasting white hour indices.

Powered by the famous Poljot Caliber 2612.1 18-jewel manual-wind movement featuring a built-in mechanical alarm complication (vibrating/buzzing function). The watch operates via two crowns: the top crown winds and sets the mechanical alarm, while the bottom crown winds the watch movement and sets the time.

Fitted with a brand new acrylic crystal and a fresh black PU leather strap. The watch is fully functional, tested, and running strong with the alarm buzzing loudly!

HISTORY & LORE

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the 1st Moscow Watch Factory developed the iconic "Signal" mechanical alarm wristwatch, based on the engineering architecture of Swiss Schild movements (AS 1475). It stands out as one of the most technical and impressive achievements of Soviet horology.

When activated, an internal mechanical hammer rapidly strikes a steel pin welded inside the back cover, creating a distinct buzzing vibration on the owner's wrist. The blue dial version produced by Poljot remains one of the most popular retro designs among vintage watch enthusiasts today.

RECOMMENDATIONS

All Antique and vintage watches are mechanical. Repairs require precision, so please handle this historical artifact with care.

  • Vintage mechanical watches should not be beaten or dropped - shocks can damage the balance staff.
  • Vintage watches are generally NOT waterproof. Protect your timekeeper from direct contact with water, heavy rain, or high humidity.
  • If your watch becomes wet it should be dried off quickly. Carefully open all covers and use a hair drier to blow dry the movement, dial, covers, crown. This will reduce the amount of rust.
  • Winding any mechanical watch tight may break the mainspring. Stop winding as soon as you feel the natural resistance tightening up.
  • When adjusting the hands of your watch, move them in a clockwise direction only to prevent stress on the gear train.
  • Every 2-3 years it is recommended to service, clean, and oil vintage watches to keep them running accurately for decades to come.
  • Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields (large speakers, modern computers, magnets) since magnetic exposure can alter the balance spring performance.
  • Vintage mechanical watches naturally experience a daily deviation error of up to a few minutes. An accuracy of +/- 3 to 5 minutes a day is considered excellent for a classic timepiece.
