HISTORY & LORE
Established in Tokyo in 1950, Orient Watch Co., Ltd. stands as one of Japan's most respected independent watch manufactures, celebrated globally for crafting durable, high-precision mechanical movements entirely in-house.
The famous Orient 3 Star (Three Stars) collection was introduced as an accessible, ultra-reliable everyday automatic line. Built around the bulletproof 469 caliber platform, the 3 Stars symbolized quality, durability, and value, becoming a worldwide favorite across Europe, Asia, and the Americas through the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Vintage mechanical watches require careful treatment to ensure long-lasting performance and precision.
- Automatic movements wind themselves through natural wrist movement. If the watch has stopped, gently shake it side-to-side for 20-30 seconds to initiate power reserve.
- Avoid exposing vintage mechanical watches to severe shocks, high-impact activities, or strong magnetic fields.
- Vintage timepieces are generally NOT waterproof. Protect your watch from direct contact with water, rain, or high humidity.
- If your watch becomes wet, dry it thoroughly immediately.
- When setting the day or date function, avoid changing settings between 20:00 (8 PM) and 03:00 (3 AM) while internal calendar gears are engaged.
- Clean the case exterior gently with a soft microfiber cloth.
