Up for sale is an authentic men's Seiko Premier Kinetic Perpetual wrist watch (Ref. 7D48-0AA0). This model combines modern automatic kinetic energy generation with classic two-tone aesthetic design, features an exquisite guilloché white dial, Roman numerals, and a sapphire crystal.
ATTENTION / IMPORTANT NOTE ON FUNCTIONALITY:
Due to probable wear of the internal calendar gears, ALL calendar functions (big date display, month indicator, leap year indicator) ARE NOT WORKING. However, the watch runs great, keeps accurate time, charges properly via its Kinetic rotor system, and the 24-hour sub-dial works perfectly! Sold as-is for daily timekeeping, restoration, or parts.
DEFECTS: Calendar mechanism functions do not work (likely worn calendar gears). Normal visible traces of wear and scratches on the stainless steel case and bracelet (see photos).

Introduced by Seiko, Kinetic technology represents a unique hybrid bridging traditional mechanical watchmaking with high-precision quartz accuracy. Motion from the wearer's wrist spins an oscillating weight (rotor), which drives a micro-generator to charge an electrical capacitor. This powers the high-accuracy electronic quartz movement without requiring regular battery replacements.
The Seiko Premier collection was launched as a flagship line of dress timepieces combining modern architectural aesthetics with advanced horological calibers. The 7D series features complex perpetual calendar micro-gearing, making it a masterpiece of Japanese modern watch manufacture.
RECOMMENDATIONS
All Antique and vintage watches are mechanical. Repairs require precision, so please handle this historical masterpiece with care.
- Vintage mechanical watches should not be beaten or dropped - shocks can damage the balance staff.
- Vintage watches are NOT waterproof. Protect your timekeeper from direct contact with water, heavy rain, or high humidity.
- If your watch becomes wet it should be dried off quickly using a soft cloth or blow-drier on cool setting.
- Winding any mechanical watch tight may break the mainspring. Stop winding as soon as you feel natural resistance tightening up.
- When adjusting the hands of your watch, move them in a clockwise direction only to prevent stress on the gear train.
- Every 2-3 years it is recommended to service, clean, and oil vintage watches to keep them running accurately for decades to come.
- To clean the silver case and crystal, use a microfiber polishing cloth.
- Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields (large speakers, modern smartphones, magnetic clasps).
- Vintage mechanical watches naturally experience a daily deviation error. An accuracy of +/- 2 to 4 minutes a day is considered excellent for a timepiece over 120 years old!
