It would be a great find for any collector or daily wearer
Up for sale is a remarkably stylish and hard-to-find vintage Orient 3 Stars automatic men's watch. Breaking away from the traditional round design, this specific model features a sharp, masculine geometric rectangular "Tank" style case crafted entirely from stainless steel, paired beautifully with its original factory-matched steel bracelet.
The watch showcases a clean silver/champagne sunburst dial layout adorned with the iconic gold-tone Orient crest and 3 stars logo, Roman numerals at XII and VI, and a practical dual-window calendar showing both the day of the week and the date. Inside, it is powered by a high-performance, original in-house Orient Caliber 55941 automatic movement with 21 jewels, proudly stamped "JAPAN". Fully authentic, robust, and operating properly!
DEFECTS: Honest vintage condition with minor surface scratches and faint scuffs on the mineral glass, stainless steel case, and original bracelet from normal historical wear. No major dents or deep flaws. Overall cosmetic score is strong with plenty of wrist appeal.

HISTORY & LORE
Established in Tokyo in 1950, Orient Watch Co. has built an uncompromising global reputation for creating some of the most reliable mechanical in-house movements in watchmaking history. The legendary "3 Stars" series (traditionally representing quality, reliability, and value) became Orient's global cornerstone throughout the late 20th century, bringing accessible automatic engineering to millions.
While the vast majority of Orient 3 Stars watches were produced in standard round profiles, the company occasionally experimented with stylized geometric case formats like this gorgeous rectangular "Tank" design to satisfy the upscale European and American markets. Powered by the workhorse 21-jewel automatic system, this time capsule brings a perfect combination of vintage Japanese precision and distinct mid-century geometric styling directly to your wrist.
RECOMMENDATIONS
All Antique and vintage watches are mechanical. Repairs require precision, so please handle this historical artifact with care.
- Vintage mechanical watches should not be beaten or dropped - shocks can damage the balance staff.
- Please Note: Although the dial states "Water Resistant 50m", factory seals have aged over the decades. We strongly advise keeping all vintage timepieces away from water or submersion to preserve the dial and movement.
- If your watch becomes wet it should be dried off quickly. Carefully open all covers and use a hair dryer to blow dry the movement, dial, covers, crown. This will reduce the amount of rust.
- Winding any mechanical watch tight may break the mainspring. (Note: Being an automatic watch, this timepiece winds itself naturally through wrist motion).
- When adjusting the hands of your watch, move them in a clockwise direction only to prevent stress on the gear train.
- Every 2-3 years it is recommended to service, clean, and oil vintage watches to keep them running accurately for decades to come.
- Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields (large speakers, modern computers, magnets) since magnetic exposure can alter the balance spring performance.
- Vintage mechanical watches naturally experience a daily deviation error. An accuracy of +/- 1 to 2 minutes a day is considered standard and acceptable for vintage pieces.
-
Watch with calendar: It is not recommended to adjust the date manually between 20.00 (8 PM) and 04.00 (4 AM), because during these hours the internal gears are engaged in automatic calendar transition. Manual adjustment during this window can damage the mechanism. Change calendar positions outside this timeframe.
