Antique Richard & Cie, Paris

Rare Oversized Carriage Clock | Hour Repeater & Strike

We are proud to present an exceptional example of French horology: an oversized carriage clock by the prestigious Richard & Cie, Paris. Richard & Cie were renowned for competing with the finest Parisian houses, known for their superior movement finishing and technical innovation.

This is a high-investment-grade timepiece featuring a working hour repeater and a striking mechanism. The combination of an oversized case and a museum-quality enamel dial makes this a standout piece for any serious collection.

The movement has been professionally serviced. It runs strong, strikes correctly on the half and full hour, and the repeater function is fully operational. In reality, it looks even more magnificent than in the photos!

RECOMMENDATIONS

All Antique watches and clocks are mechanical. Many repairs will not be cheap, as most likely they will require replacement of non-standard parts (unlike most late model watches).

  • Antique clocks should not be beaten or dropped - because repairs may be expensive.
  • Antique clocks are generally NOT waterproof. Therefore you should protect your antique clock from exposure to moisture.
  • Winding any mechanical clock tight may break the mainspring. If you can avoid it do not wind the clock hard.
  • When adjusting the hands, move them in a clockwise direction only. Counter-clockwise adjustments may damage the movement.
  • Every 2-3 years it is necessary to service and oil vintage clocks to ensure longevity.
  • Keep your antique clock away from magnets and extreme temperature changes.
